There's a reason homeowners ask whether duct cleaning is a scam: too often it is. We clean every run with rotary brushes and negative air to NADCA's ACR standard, sanitize, and show you the before and after.
Your ducts move all the air your family breathes, through an attic that is dusty, humid and — in older homes — has had rodents in it. Flex duct that's never been cleaned holds years of settled dust, insulation fibers and, in humid South Florida, biological growth on the inner liner.
Done properly, duct cleaning is physical agitation of every run (rotary brushes or air whips) while the system is under negative pressure so the debris goes into a collector, not back into your house. Then a sanitation treatment rated for HVAC systems. Done badly, it's a shop vac at the register and a sales pitch for a UV light. We do the first one.
Camera inside the trunk lines and several runs before we touch anything — you see what's there.
Registers sealed, negative-air machine connected to the trunk so loosened debris goes to the collector.
Rotary brush or air whip through each supply and return run — 36 runs means 36 runs, not the easy ones.
Supply plenum, return plenum and every boot cleaned by hand.
HVAC-rated treatment applied through the system. Product named, SDS provided, Customer approval before application.
Same camera positions as the before shots, plus a note of any connections that need sealing.
Every product is named on your quote and your contract. We don't substitute without your written approval. See everything we install.
Duct cleaning is priced per run (each supply and return), with trunk lines and plenums included. Your quote states the count. Beware of per-house pricing under $200 — it isn't possible to clean a system properly for that, and the visit is usually a sales call.
The $99 version usually is. Proper duct cleaning — mechanical agitation of every run under negative pressure, to the NADCA ACR standard — is real work with a real result. Ask any company how they agitate the duct and what standard they follow. If they can't answer, walk away.
Not every year. For most homes, after a renovation, after a rodent problem, when you move into an older home, or when you see the signs above. Otherwise every five to seven years is plenty.
We use a product formulated for HVAC systems and occupied homes, name it on your quote, and provide the SDS before it's applied. We don't fog your house with anything you haven't approved in writing.
It removes a major reservoir of dust and allergens from the airstream. Combined with air sealing and new insulation, most customers notice a clear difference. We won't promise a medical result.
We clean the supply and return plenums and the ductwork. Coil cleaning and blower work are HVAC tasks — we'll tell you if we see a problem and can coordinate with your AC company.
