Brand, product and spec — on the quote, in the contract, and in this list.
Most contractors say "insulation." We name the brand, the product and the spec on your quote and in your contract, and we don't swap it without your written approval. Here's what we install and why.
| Application | Product | Why this one |
|---|---|---|
| Blown attic insulation | CertainTeed InsulSafe® SP | Fiberglass that doesn't absorb moisture or feed mold, holds its loft in humidity, non-combustible. Installed to R-30 or R-38 with depth markers. |
| Radiant barrier | RadiantGUARD® XTREME (perforated) | Perforated so moisture passes through. Stapled to rafters, never laid on insulation. |
| Attic ventilation baffles | DCI SmartBaffle® | Rigid, sized to rafter spacing, keeps soffit vents open past the insulation line. |
| Fire-rated sealant | 3M™ Fire Barrier Sealant CP 25WB+ | At flues, exhaust fans and heat-producing fixtures, with sheet-metal collars. Code requires it; most installers skip it. |
| Air-sealing foam | GREAT STUFF™ Gaps & Cracks | Low-expansion foam for ceiling-plane gaps, top plates and penetrations. |
| Duct sealing mastic | RCD #8 Mastic® | Water-based, UL 181-listed. Brushed on every connection — tape fails in attic heat, mastic doesn't. |
| Attic & duct sanitation | BBJ Mold Control for HVAC Systems and Air Ducts | Formulated for HVAC and occupied homes. Named on your quote; SDS provided before application. |
| Rodent exclusion | Galvanized hardware cloth & sheet metal | Rats chew through foam in a night. They don't chew through steel. |
| Duct replacement | R-8 insulated flex duct | Properly supported and strapped; no runs lying in insulation. |
SDS for every product we apply are available on request and are provided before any sanitation or sealing product is used in your home.
If a named product becomes unavailable, we propose an alternative in writing and don't proceed until you confirm. That's in the contract.
